During the 1980s at the Broomhill studios in Upper Beaconsfield, I was in pursuit of throwing the elusive perfect spherical form, working with reduction fired stoneware. In Onda, Japan in 1974 I witnessed potters pouring glaze spontaneously over the piece as a decorative element. Inspired by this, I incorporated my brushwork, poured glaze and onglaze bronze lustre.
