Spiral lipped form
Dimensions: 100mm (w) x 90mm (h)
2005
Hand-thrown form, made with alterations in the form of spirals grooved into the wet clay, some exiting through the rim creating a spontaneous lip, giving the piece an asymmetric balance and individuality. The glaze pools into the grooves, accentuating the linear quality.
These are pieces fired in the gas kiln under reduction atmosphere to 1300 degrees celsius. Part of a body of work developing various celadon glazes, at the Jetty Road studios, Nungurner.
